Each year I print a calendar of 12 paintings from the year before, and have fun with an over-view of where I have been. I do sell these for $2 each, if you are interested (great stocking stuffers!). Happy New Year to you all!

Pony Express Rd, Greenwood, Virginia

Sharon's View, Highland County, VA

Sharon's view is above the quarry in the Bluegrass Valley, so you see all the amazing fields and Snowy Mountain in the distance. Single Bale, Pony Express Rd, Greenwood, VA

Painted this with Chloe and Noaa two weeks ago on Pony Express Rd in Greenwood. We all agreed we needed to come back to this spot, there were several paintings waiting to be painted! Happy Thanksgiving!

Maupin's Farm from Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church, Whitehall

Painted all day @ Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church on Garth Rd in Whitehall and did these four small paintings looking @ Maupin's Farm and the neighboring farm. It got up to 62 degrees in the sunshine, what more could a girl ask for! All SOLD

Bridgewater Field, VA

I painted this when I went to Bridgewater College to see an art show, and took my paints, and left several hours before I need to be there. I found this farm and open field, a dirt road to park in and set up my paints and easel. Hidden Valley, Bath County, VA

Painted this in Bath County with friends after we camped out for the weekend. This is in Hidden Valley State Park where we camped and next to Hidden Valley B & B that my husband and I stayed last year. This area keeps bringing us back! 12" x 16" oil on canvas, framed  $285.

Maupin's Farm, Whitehall, VA

Last Monday Chloe and I got out to paint in Whitehall at Maupin's Farm, a large track of land with many barns and a pond. I have painted out there each year and try to do a different view. Somehow the main house just happened to creep into the very center of this painting! 12" x 16" oil on canvas framed, $285  SOLD, thanks Martha!

Chiles Peach Orchard's Red Barn, Crozet

Painted with several friends this past Saturday at Chile's Peach Orchard, below are two friends from Lexington, Jean Marie and Elizabeth, who had never been here before. Others that came to paint where Jenny, Noaa and Julia. We were all in the sun and enjoying the mild weather.

Laundry @ the Pond, Crozet

I have painted before at this pond that is across from our house, on a farm that was just sold. So, I took advantage of getting one more LARGE painting done this summer. Perhaps the new owners won't mind if I show up with a basket of laundry! Chile's Peach Orchard is in the background. 36" x 58" oil on canvas, framed  $2,400.

Chile's Peach Orchard, Fall Colors

Finally got out this weekend on a perfect golden afternoon, standing in the sun with almost 70 degrees, with no jacket! This is the view from up on the hillside with a sea of peach trees below in their fall colors. 12" x 36" oil on canvas, framed, $475 SOLD, thanks Adrienne!

Fall Colors, Bath County

Had a wonderful time at Bath County painting with Elizabeth, Jenny, Susan and Noaa as we camped out for two nights and painted as much as we could. Two 8" x 10" oil on canvas framed paintings, $150 each.

Unfortunately, Sunday morning I had a mild stroke, and didn't know it at the time, until much later in the week. After 8 1/2 days in the hospital I am resting and expect a full recovery in due time. I am looking forward to getting back outside to these fall colors before they are all gone.

Old Rag from Skyline Drive

Painted this a few weeks ago from Thorofare Mountain Overlook of Old Rag. They had the overlook blocked off but I was able to set up and paint there, LOVE this view!  24" x 54" oil on canvas, framed  $1,450, SOLD  Thanks Lisa & Jim!

Afton Mountain, VA

This is near Plank Rd in Afton, with three bales, from last year. It is now showing at the new Crozet Artisan Shop next to Three Notch'd Grill downtown Crozet. Will post a photo of the shop soon, it opens this Saturday, October 4.  12" x 24" oil on canvas, framed, $300.

Franklin Cliffs, Skyline Drive, VA

Painted this two weeks ago when my husband and I camped at Lewis Mountain on Skyline Drive. He then hiked from the campgrounds to this stop, nine miles away. The distant mountain is Massanutton with the gap between, great spot for painting! 12" x 36" oil on canvas, framed $475  SOLD

Jarmans Gap View, Crozet

Spontaneous painting two evenings ago with Isabelle and Julia. This is the open field across from my house on Jarmans Gap Rd. The field had been let go and was gorgeous with the fall colors of ironweed, wingstem, and wild grasses. Funny thing is, they came THAT evening and cut it all down and are baling it today! Old Rag, From Pinnacle Overlook, Skyline Drive

Painted this from Jewel Hollow Overlook on Skyline Drive a few weeks ago and enjoyed the light. The distant mountains are the Massenutten range. This will be hung at River District Arts gallery, 16" x 40" oil on canvas, framed.

Barn on Wheeler St, Little Washington, VA

Painted this on Saturday afternoon in Little Washington, as well as a house across from it. I don't think anyone uses this . . . I always think of them as fixer-uppers! 11" x 14" oil on canvas, framed, $250.

Painted this at 537 Main Street, Little Washington, two weekends ago when I was up in Sperryville. So many wonderful homes and spots to paint, next time I will stop by and find another one. This will be in the show along with several other paintings of mine, plus a dozen plein air painters @ River District Arts. The show is from August 16 through October 12. 11" x 14" oil on canvas, framed, $250.

Wintergreen, Looking North East to Charlottesville

Buck Hollow Overlook, Skyline Drive, Above Sperryville, VA

Painted this past weekend up in Sperryville with a dozen other plein air painters, with River District Arts Gallery. There will be a show there starting August 16 - October 12. Looking forward to seeing what everyone did, and will post my other paintings soon. It was great fun  . . . and thanks to Donal and Elena for letting me stay at their farm house! Two Barns, Highland County, Virginia

Unusual barn shape on this farm in Highland County that I found on Wimner Road, outside of the town of Blue Grass. I also loved the steep slope of the hillside behind it. 16" x 20" oil on canvas, framed  $375.

Craigsville, Virginia

A garden, barn and lots of sheds near the road north of Craigsville on Route 42. I painted this after I dropped off paintings to the Bath County Art Show two weekends ago. Next time I will paint the house with more sheds and building around it. I love trying to figure out the order of which they where build and for what purpose. 12" x 36" oil on canvas, framed  $475.

The Mill, New Hamden, Blue Grass Valley, VA

If you know Blue Grass Valley in Highland County, you will know this mill that is being renovated this year and will be fabulous once it is complete. I am standing on my property line looking behind my house to the neighbor's field . . . not bad, huh? I had to paint this before they moved the bales and was in the shade the whole time, lucky me! 24" x 48" oil on canvas, framed  $1,225.

Painted this at the Highland County Paint Out this past weekend with a dozen painters. This was a farm house on Ginseng Mountain Lane in Blue Grass, 11" x 14" oil on canvas, framed $250.

Blue Ridge Overlook, Wintergreen, VA
